friends

it's been awhile... but it has dawned on me often that i dun really noe how to keep ppl close to me close, they (or rather I) tend to drift away into my own world, unable to reach back to them, and when i try, most of the time there is no one there to grab that hand...
hmm...
just wondering, how do i make a real friend, and have a true friendship???
=(

note to self 2

believe in the power of " I can". focus more on what u can change and influence, rather than harping on wat u cannot.

Notes to self (part 1)

lol... just typing this post as a reminder to myself on how to do certain things...

Habits = where knowledge(what to, why to) meets skills (how to) and desire (want to)

without any of the 3, nothing that happens will really be permanent.

Do things with the inside- outside approach. No matter what is to be done/changed, first think of how changing yourself can change the situation, other than asking others to change.

how people change...

Somehow just have the uncomfortable feeling that i really should get back to work, less my uni life will be hell (from the 2 years of not working my brain).

anyways, was reading a book where it dawned on me how true it was that people gradually change as they grow older, inprinted on by society on how to act and react to certain things that happen. The book wrote how we have become people who want people to change to suit how u wanted things to be, and not the other way round, which was actually how it should have been done. something i got from it so far (havent finished reading... =() is that

The way we see others, is never actually who they really are, but is always just who we make them out to be, from our beliefs, our experiences, our thoughts.

this in turns results in us having biased views against others, without actually knowing what is the true story behind their actions and behaviour. As a result, we tend to draw lines on people too quickly, making us become more selfish and self-centred.

another thing i learned is that for us to experience change in things around us, first of all, we have to change. our views have to change, how we react to things have to change.

therefore, i have to make it a point for me to change, to have a change in my life.
